What is ERADICIL and what is it used for?
ERADICIL is a non-biological, medicated laundry detergent that can disinfect your laundry (clothes,
bath mats, towels, bed linen etc.) to help stop the cycle of re-infection and cross-contamination by
bacterial and fungal skin infections.*
ERADICIL contains a unique combination of two disinfectants. 2-phenylphenol is a strong fungicide that
is used as a food additive and in hospitals, to sterilise surgical equipment. Chloroxylenol is an
antiseptic that kills a wide variety of bacteria and fungi (including MRSA). These two agents work
together to disinfect fabrics at the dilutions experienced in domestic laundry machines.
Formulated in Switzerland, ERADICIL is laboratory-proven to be tough on germs, but gentle on your
laundry. It is the first product designed specifically to work alongside your regular detergent to
ensure that clothes don’t just look clean – they are also DISINFECTED.
ERADICIL™ laundry pre-wash should always be used in addition to treatments for the specific infection.
If in doubt about an appropriate treatment for the infection, ask your pharmacist or doctor.
It is not widely known that domestic laundering does not kill germs.** In the past this was done with a
lengthy 'boil wash' and ironing. Nowadays many fabrics cannot survive this treatment and modern washing
machines do not maintain the high temperatures required (above 65°C) for long enough to kill germs.
Disease-causing germs breed in socks, underwear, bed linen and towels even after washing. This is
particularly problematic if your child (or partner!) has athlete's foot or 'jock itch' as these
infectious conditions can be spread through your family.***
Now it is possible to be safe, 'green' and save money with low temperature washes using a new,
medicated laundry pre-wash called ERADICIL.
ERADICIL eliminates the germs that breed in your laundry. Regular use can stop cross-infection and help
prevent recurrence of the infection. ERADICIL is used to treat the laundry of people who have:
- Athlete's foot
- Vaginal thrush
- Fungal nail
- Impetigo
- Ringworm
Before you use
Shake bottle.
Where possible, do not share clothes, towels or bed linen.
When handling an infected person’s laundry it is recommended to frequently wash and dry your hands.
How to use
(10 pre-washes)
PRE-WASH Use one capful (20ml) in the pre-wash dispenser drawer of your automatic washing machine.
Use your normal laundry detergent in the main wash. You may see some soap bubbles during the pre-wash.
ERADICIL contains an effective, non-biological and colour-safe detergent that helps the disinfectants
reach the germs.
Or MAIN WASH (for stubborn infections). Use two capfuls (40ml) in the main wash dispenser drawer as a
replacement for your regular.
Or HAND WASH (see Precautions below). Use one capful (20ml) in sufficient water to ensure suds.
Mix ERADICIL and the water thoroughly.
ERADICIL can be used at any wash temperatures (even today’s energy-efficient 30°C washes).
